Who we are:

Kaduna Diocese is geographically located in Kaduna State, Nigeria. It is situated within the middle belt region and the people are predominantly farmers living in rural areas.

The diocese was inaugurated on the 30th of January 1954 with the name "the Diocese of Northern Nigeria" Presently, we have 23 dioceses created out of the former Diocese.

The present Kaduna diocese is under the leadership of the Most Rev,d Dr. Josiah Idowu-Fearon. He was enthroned in November, 1997. The Diocese covers Soba, Kauru, Kubau, Giwa, Sabon Gari, Birnin Gwari, Kagarko, Kachia, Kajuru, Chikun, Kufana, Kaduna North and Kaduna South Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

The diocese has a congregational population of 25-30 thousand and is administratively divided into the following deaneries: - The Cathedral, Doka, Magajin Gari, Kaduna, Kakuri, Ungwan Maichibi, Gabasawa, Kateri, Muchia, Samaru, Kwassam, Ungwan Kyauta, Hanwa, Sabon Gari Zaria, Nassarawa, Kagarko.

We have four areas of church planting: Kwassam, Kasuwa Magani, Kateri, Kagarko and Birnin Gwari rural deaneries and we have planted churches among the following indigenous peoples: Gbagyi, Koro and Kadara, along Abuja-Kaduna Road.

In Kwassam Deanery we have Churches among the following tribal peoples: Rurma, Rumayya, Maguzawa, Sayawa, Amawa, Fulani, Kurama, Rishuwa and Kwankawa.

In all, we have approximately 25000-30000 members. We run mobile clinics in two of the four deaneries with a health center at Kateri for that sector.

We plan a second health center for Kwassam Deanery. In the area of Rural development we have provided deep well water for 13 communities and there are plans for many more.
